Summary:
The Blue Tit is a small agile brightly coloured bird. It has a bright blue crown, wings and tail. The back is greenish, and the underparts bright yellow. The face is white with a blck strip running through the eye and a black bib under the short bill.
Ecology:
Blue Tits can often be seen searching out small insects in trees and hedges. They nest in holes in trees, and will also readily use bird boxes in gardens. They feed mainly on insects, but also young plant material and some seeds.
